Bear Valley has a great impact in Nigeria

INTRODUCTION

We shall continue to be eternally grateful to God Almighty for His grace by bringing Bear Valley Bible Institute to us. We have not had it so good as we have it today.  The congregations within our State have started feeling the good impact of the school through some of our students who were their members. 

May God Almighty bless the entire Bear Valley leadership and all the sponsors of the school. Presently we have 40 students, (Nnewi 10, Awada 17, Okpoko 12).

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

EVANGELISM/LECTURESHIP

Anambra preachers and leaders held a One Day lectureship. One of our lectures, Aniamalu Felix and myself, Ezeh Chijioke handled the two key notes. The topics discussed were "The Preacher's family"  and  "The Responsibilities of the Church Towards Her Ministers" about 50 leading from various congregations attended the program.

CHALLENGES

The major challenge confronting us is the decline of our students because of the economic situation of our country. Many are struggling to survive. 

CONCLUSION

By the grace of God our lecturers are doing a great job in delivering the courses to the understanding of our students and also to the strict adherent to the Bear Valley guidelines.

We hope that the impact of their work will continue to shape our various congregations for more fruitful work in the Lord"s Vineyard.

Island-wide fellowship in Trinidad

The six preaching school students finished the last classes for their first year. They have been an encouragement and help to many congregations.

The third week of the month they helped another graduate who preaches at a small congregation organize an island-wide fellowship. The speakers were a former TSOP student and the Director. The meeting took place in a local secondary school auditorium. About 675 Christians from 60% of the congregations gathered for tremendous singing, stirring messages, meaningful Lord’s supper, and eating-together fellowship.

Then this past two weeks the six Masters class students have worked hard on the next session of their studies. Gary Fallis and his wife Sarah have been teaching here on the island and enjoying some Trini ‘life.’ 

Seven baptisms in Uganda

Brethren, 

I greet you in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We ought always to give thanks to God for you Brethren,  because it is really fitting, your faith and love toward this work is actionably seen not verbal. 

Endlessly we thank God for his unceasing protection upon us as the school since we started in this journey. I am happy to let you know that  our men broke off for a holiday on 6th and have been joined to their families and congregations after a long time. We give God all the glory because all reached safely. 

We are expecting them in class on 7th July  2025. Pray for them during their time at home. however,  one of our boys, that is EMMANUEL BYAMUNGU,  Upon reaching home on Friday,  his biological father passed on  on Saturday.  We  have been saddened upon receiving such sad news.  Put EMMANUEL in your prayers as he battles this difficult moments in his life.

Also Simon  Katuramu our oldest student in age, has been battling eye problems.  It has given him a hard time studying. When he went to the eye clinic in Kampala,  he was told to go to a bigger facility than that. He pleaded with us that he doesn't feel like leaving his studies and asked if we may be of any assistance towards his treatment.  I plead with any well wisher  to see Simon  through and God will  bless you so much. 

In another news,  our brother  Simon Odongo  who is one of our teachers, got in an accident and got broken bones in his legs and deep wounds. He is at home and in great pain.

On 30th May we received a note from our landlord,  of the rent increment. Upon  receiving all this information,  we have been receiving other information from our old students and the work they are doing.  This last week a new congregation has been born . God should give us more strength to continue doing more. 7 baptisms in the course of last week including a Muslim man whom I had studied with for some good time.  

We say sorry to our brother Keith  who had wanted to visit the school here but because of so many anomalies he was not able to cross to Uganda.  We waited for him but all in vain.

Mozambique school has big plans

1.0 Introduction

The true shape of the school is slowly showing its face. This comes with surprises and a lot of discoveries at its wake. We pray to God for courage in facing some truths of the progress of the work. There are five courses that have been done to completion to date and the sixth one is in progress. In the process of learning, there are also many other happenings that go along with curriculum progress. The curriculum progress, the projects update, the students activities, meet our students and staff are the items in this report.

2.0 Curriculum Progress

We are excited to let you know that there are five courses that have been done to completion to date. These are Introduction to the New Testament, Introduction to The Old Testament, Communication Skills, How We Got The Bible and Life of Christ. The tutors were Owen S Ruraca, Theophilus Tanhera, Owen T Marange and Tatenda Tizora respectively. There was so much fun as these were in progress while a lot of patience was required in the pitching as the group has different educational levels. The next course will be Public Speaking. All the six courses are introductory courses that introduce the Bible student to basic knowledge of the journey into the study of Theology and Ministry.

The overall grade in each course is attained after some course work which includes assignments, midterm tests and final exams. These were done by all those who will be proceeding to the next set of courses. The grading system is American. The pass mark is 70% and above.

3.0 Projects Update

3.1 The Vegetable Garden

During the rains in January, we started a covo vegetable garden. We want to make this a cash project since the vegetable is on demand in the area. After the baseline survey it was resolved that we start this project. The vegetable is now ready for harvesting and selling. We are also yet to add chicken manure which is within our reach. Small areas have been affected by too much water since the larger part of the land is a wetland. We have plans to put tomatoes and other vegetables on these spaces that are left as the water levels go down.

The vegetable garden will also assist with offering some vegetables for the student lunch meals which is one of the urgent needs that we have. We hope to utilize all the space we have.

3.2 The Incubator

With the help of Pact Missionaries we are now in possession of a 1500 eggs incubator. We thank God that we now have it with us from Zimbabwe. We are very grateful to have received this important gift that will go a long way towards our vision of self sustenance. Hatchery business is capable of growing into a giant project given the scarcity of broiler chicks on the market. Yet, our current focus is on other freelance varieties of birds. The school will start with a few birds as parent stock that will produce the eggs to be hatched in the incubator. In the process, our Projects director will work on our possible markets. The project director has produced a business plan which we will share with various stakeholders and interested partners who will be interested in the project.

3.3 The Broiler Project

Since the hatchery project may take a longer time to realize meaningful profit, the school has decided to do the broiler project to develop capital and support to the hatchery project. There was an abandoned pen at the compound which needed a few renovation touches. We have worked on it. This pen can house as many as 200 birds. We started with 50 birds which were sold at an equivalent value of US$4. We are taking another lot. In this second batch we will take another 50 birds because we had so many expenses that we incurred in the renovations of the pen.

 4.0 Students Activities

The school designed an activity form for the students to record their participation in church activities. So many activities have been recorded and the students are excited in their studies and experiences. The school has been communicating with Tim Brumfield on his work in the WBS. To date we have one of our student Elidio Lucas Selemane from Manica doing follow ups of WBS students in Manica town. Of the two follow ups one has been baptised by our student and is now meeting with the church in Manica. Some of our students have been involved in visiting the sick, presiding on the Lords's super, singing, preaching and teaching various classes. Besides these, the school has chapel sessions every day in which the students and staff participate offering the students another learning platform as well.  

The church in Messika hosted a gardening workshop that was done by Healing Hands International for two days (29 and 30 May 2025). Our students and their wives were part of this workshop. We hope we will have more of these together with our school projects to provide a learning platform in developing in self-sustaining projects.

5.0 Meet Our Students  

5.1 Lewai Gande Julio and Chipo Requireai

Lewai Gande Julio was born on 25 June 1990 in Vanduzi where he comes from. Lewai graduated as an English teacher from the Chibata Teacher Training Institute in 2011. In 2019 he graduated from the Pedagogical University in the English language with another qualification in Shona. He is the Headmaster at 12 de Outubro Primary School since 2022. He also serves as head of post and head of major events in the Frelimo party in the Manica district. He was married to Chipo Requerai in 2012 and the two are blessed with 4 children.

Chipo Requireai studied at Chinhamapere Secondary School and finished with her tenth grade in 2015. She was born in Manica where she hails from. The couple stays in Messika where they also worship. Lewai was baptised by Owen on the tenth of June in 2010. Chipo was baptized by Owen in September 2012 at Messica where she has since been an active member. The couple are both students in our first intake.

5.2 Elidio Lucas Selemane

Elido Lucas Selemane was born on the 17 of April 1985 in the district of Gurue in the province of Zambezia in Mozambique. He was born from a religious family of the Church of Christ. He was brought up by his grandfather in Gurue and later moved to Chimoio. In Chimoio he went to stay with his uncle Jose Paputiano. For four years he went to Guro district from Chimoio. He later moved to Manica town in 2010 and became part of the Church in Manica. It had been his dream to pursue pastoral studies. With basic English proficiency he could have crossed the border to pursue these in Mutare which had the closest Bible school. However, for many years it was buried. Rays of light toward his vision came when he rubbed shoulders with the Ruracas who were preaching in Messika. The reality of his dream showed up on the fourth of January 2025 when he found himself among the Instituto Biblico Bear Valley pioneers. Elidio is a self-motivated man with an excellent integrity. He is hardworking and punctual in his work. He is not yet married. To date he has exhibited a level of performance and ability above average. We have such a promising preacher in him.  

6.0 Get To Know Your Staff  

Owen and Eunice

Owen Simone Ruraca is a Mozambican national. He is married to Eunice Chikukwa. The couple is blessed with four girls. The couple are graduates of MSOP of 2005. The couple are the only trained preachers in the Manica Province to date. They have been working with the Church in Messika for 19 years and have been very active in the work of the Lord. Owen is working on his Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical studies. Owen is serving as a teacher and Director of evangelism activities. Owen stands tall in his communities and we think ourselves very fortunate to have him as part of our team. He has been struggling with cancer but has not stopped giving his service to God even beyond his strength. Eunice is helping us with handling our paperwork and keeping records. She does an excellent job.

7.0 We need prayers

We are asking for prayers from you brethren. Owen Ruraca’s health has been on and off. He has recently changed his cancer treatment and was down most of his time. He might undergo another operation in the near future and we are soliciting your prayers.

One of our student from Manica, Alberto Zecharias has not been feeling well also. We were told at the beginning that it was cerebral malaria but it later proved to be something else different. He was later taken to his rural home and has been slowly improving. We hope he will be back earlier to continue with his studies. He has a good reputation of being punctual, hardworking and consistent. We have missed him too long and kindly request for your prayers.  

Conclusion

The school is progressing with its curriculum with other activities which include income generating projects like the vegetable garden, the broiler poultry project and the yet to roll hatchery project. Our students have been active in different church activities that include preaching, teaching, song leading, visitations and others. We are very grateful of the partnerships that we have so far and look forward to many of these. The school needs prayers for our ill student  Alberto and tutor Owen Ruraca who has been struggling with gist cancer for over seven years now and awaits another possible operation.

Reporting Letter for the month of May-2025

Respected Director Mr. Keith Kasarjian, our coordinator Mr. Mark Reynolds and all the prayer partners greetings to you in the name of Jesus Christ. We pray that this letter may serve us to find you good health. We sincerely appreciate your continual prayers  and  encouragement for the smooth function of BVBI-Tirupati-India. We would like to submit the brief report for the month of May-2025.

Weather :- The month of May is considered as hottest month in India. The temperature has been reached over 100 degrees during the month of May, This period is characterized by dry, scorching heat as the country prepares for the arrival of the monsoon rains.

BVBI-Classes:- we have successfully conducted a graduation ceremony for the 3rd batch of students in April 2025, marking a significant milestone in our mission to train faithful gospel preachers and Christian leaders. We are excited to announce that the new batch has already commenced  and students are diligently engaging in their studies . Our dedicated faculty members are working tirelessly , ensuring that each student receives quality biblical instruction and mentorship.  We continue to seek God’s guidance as we move forward in equipping men for the ministry.

We are greatly honoured  by the presence of our respected director Mr. Keith Kasarjian , whose visit brought encouragement and inspiration to both graduated and staff.  We deeply appreciate his gracious participation in the graduation ceremony and heartfelt welcome to the new batch of Bible students,  personally witnessing their commitment as they began their journey of learning and service. Classes are now in full swing , with students and teachers giving their best to equip them for the lord’s work. We thank God for His continued blessings on this spiritual educational ministry.

Summer Gospel Campaigning:- In the month of May we have conducted gospel campaigning in the village of Aruru, this village is located very coastal side of our district. It is 100 miles far away from the bible school . We involved our local church members for the success of the gospel meeting. About 60-70 people were attended for the meeting, by the sound system village people heard the good of Jesus Christ.

Baptisms:- In the month of May 11 souls were baptized and added to the body of Christ. Please pray for the newly baptized souls so that they may grow in the image of His son Jesus Christ. One of the baptized persons  is Mr. Prasad, is blind. He has completed his teacher training in braille. He understood the problem of sin and obeyed to water baptism to wash away his sins.

Summer Children classes(VBS) :- In the month of May all the schools and colleges have been closed for the summer holidays.  We have conducted summer children classes from May 8th to 11th( 4 days ). We have collected children near  by villages . About 80 children were attended for the 4 days VBS program.  The theme for 2025 was The parables of Jesus Christ. These following parable 1.The Parable of good Samaritan 2. The Parable of Foolish Richman 3.The parable of wise and foolish builders 4. The parable of Rich man and Lazarus 5. The Parable of the talents 6. The parable of Pharisee and tax collector 7.The parable of Sower and soils 8. The parable of the lost possession . We had joint class, then we divided into sections as per their ages. We involved sisters and brothers for the success of the VBS. The local church granted the budget for the study material, water, snacks and food.

Online classes:- BVBI-Tirupati-India has launched online classes on weekly twice, we have connected active members and some of the students to educate them spiritually who can teach others.

New students to arrive in Sierra Leone

ACTIVITY OPERATION REPORT FOR MAY 2025

Full Time and the Extended (2) Programs 

INTRODUCTION

It is very exciting and appreciable that our infinite and merciful God has granted us another opportunity to meet again in proxy. Though we stay far away from one another, yet we are closer in the Spirit. This is another opportunity for us to share with you the report of the Bear Valley Bible Institute Sierra Leone for the past month of May, 2025. During this period, our academic and evangelistic activities continued without any hindrance; some souls were being converted and there continued to be a good interpersonal relationship between the school and the graduates on the field as well as the local congregations within Sierra Leone.

May you read with us through as we share the report based on the following subheadings:  

STUDENTS UPDATE

You are already aware that at the Kenema main campus, we have two sets of students: the full time (13) and the part time (10). Both of these sets of students  are doing really well in the class room and on the field. For instance, Nyuma Kamara, a part time student and Emmanuel Panda, a full time student, engaged their congregations within Kenema Township and organized an evangelistic outreach which was accompanied by tract distribution, door-knocking and a football match. During the program (May 23-25, 2025), many people were preached to and many tracts were distributed. It is hoped that a consistent follow up would yield some fruits subsequently. The school designed a program that while they gather the knowledge in the class room, they also go on the field to practicalize it, and they have really immersed themselves into that. It is heart–warming to see that these young preachers in training are putting into practice what they are learning in the classroom. This shows that the future is bright for the work of God in this part of the vineyard.

CONVERSION OF SOULS

As you were told in our April report, we embark on weekly evangelism for two reasons: a. To obey the great commission and b. To instill the culture of evangelism in our students so that even when they graduate, they would be eager to win souls for Christ. Our motto in conjunction to the Bear Valley motto is, “Training for Service”, and this includes serving the Lord by winning souls and nurturing them to remain saved. The spiritual and academic growth of the students in these regards is clearly visible in their contributions to the growth and development of the local congregations and their personal lives in general. They continue to demonstrate great promise: a sense of responsibility, maturity, commitment and academic excellence. The assignments that they have been undertaking in the local congregations while on mission work have been well commended by the local preachers and members of those local congregations. The regular weekly evangelism activity of the school has been yielding some great results as the number of new prospects has increased for continuous studies. Therefore, during the May period, eight souls were converted by our graduates on the field and seven (7) souls were saved by the evangelistic teams.

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES

We have the following activities scheduled to take place in June, Lord willing”

a.      Arrival of International students from Gambia (June 11, 2025).

b.     Entrance exams and the admission of new students in the full time program (June 26, 2025).

c.      Evangelism and academic orientation for freshmen (June 30, 2025).

CONCLUSION

In brief, the Bear Valley Administration and the Lord’s Church in Sierra Leone continue to show appreciation to you all for reading, praying for us and for sharing your resources with us so that we can continue to do what we are doing. New term begins in Gweru, Zimbabwe

MAY 2025 NARRATIVE REPORT

INTRODUCTION

Each new term brings new and renewed expectations. It brings hope that God will give us more zeal and energy in training men and women towards his cause. After the break, God indeed renewed us as we started a new term. In May, classes progressed well, students continued to be exposed to various scenarios for learning purposes, with preparations for the upcoming field practice taken to another level in the month. So much was done in the month but we are pleased to report the following:

1.0  CURRICULUM PROGRESS

Classes continued without a challenge. All subjects are still ongoing with some going to be completed in the month of June. Both students and teachers are putting in their maximum effort to ensure that classes progress as planned. The following subjects are being taught this term;

 2.0 VISIT TO HWAHWA

BVBIZ students are exposed to different scenarios as part and parcel of their training. On the 28th of May, they visited Hwahwa Medium Prison to hold devotions inside the prison. The students were divided into three groups with each group being under the supervision of a teacher. Sermons were preached concurrently. There shall be more visits to the prison and the experience itself was wonderful to the students.

3.0 MIDLANDS GOSPEL MEETING

From the 1st to the 4th of May, Midlands Province held its annual lectureship at Kwekwe. The lectureship provided a great opportunity for students to serve the Lord in various capacities including preaching, teaching and leading in songs. Great appreciation to the organizing committee for such opportunities. The deliveries were beyond expectation. The lectureship provided the students with a good platform to put theory into practice including learning how such programs are organized. 

4.0 FIELD INTENSHIP

The 2024-2026 intake’s first field program/internship commences on the 13th of July and will run for 10 weeks. The longer version of the program will take place next year and will run for six months. The following are the places were the students will be going to

All hosting congregations are encouraged to continue preparing for the coming of the students.

4.0 CLASSROOM BLOCK

In view of the upcoming Men’s National Lectureship in August this year, more room is needed to house attendees. The classroom and office block, though still under construction, can ease the anticipated pressure. Though it will be used as it is, it would be ideal to fix window frames, install rough floors and doors.

5.0 NEW PART TIME CLASS

BVBIZ runs both conventional and parallel classes. A parallel class began on 24th of May with 5 students. Their studies take an average of four years to complete. This class joins the other class which began in 2023. BVBIZ wishes them well as they began their long journey of knowledge acquisition, skill upgrading and spiritual nourishment.

CONCLUSION

As reported above, classes progressed well, students had opportunities to preach, teach, evangelize, counsel among more activities as part of their training. The various scenarios students were exposed to provided a learning platform besides the classes. Preparations for the upcoming short field internship are progressing well. In all these, we continue to extend our gratitude to you all for collaborating with BVBIZ. Your efforts and sacrifices have made a huge difference in the expansion of God’s kingdom. Evangelism campaign in Tanzania

Grace and Peace to you friends. 

I hope this note finds you well and your faith thriving. I’m sitting in an airport right now, waiting on my flight to Tanzania, and I wanted to share with you this message from our Dean of Student, Desdery Massawe:

“Brethren, I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I would like you to know that this is the end of the second quarter and all students are already going back to their home congregations, ready to work with their local congregations. This year we have 34 students from 34 different congregations around East African countries, especially Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. There are 3 students from Uganda, 8 from Kenya and 23 from Tanzania The first year has 19 students and the second year has 15 students. All students are performing well, but at the end of each second quarter we have to note the best student  in each class who performed well more than others. This time brother Derick Emmanuel Kidava is the best student in the first year class and the second year is Amaniel V. Amaniel. The school is closed on the 23rd of May and will be reopened on the 16th of August. I will continue to give feedback to each student of what he is doing to help his local congregations to grow during his holidays.

 “On the 17th of  May, school staff and students all did a personal evangelism day at the Kisongo church of Christ. The Lord blessed the work and the results were good. Forty Four new bible classes were established and two souls were saved by being baptized into much water. The preacher at Kisongo and other christians committed themselves to make follow up for those classes and we believe that more fruits will be produced. Thank you for your prayers and to all who committed themselves to support the work of the Lord here in Tanzania.”

Great cooperation in Zambia

INTRODUCTION

We send greetings to you all brothers and sisters in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! With the atmosphere of love and full of Godly activities, we are so delighted to write this report, and we give honor and glory to God who has given us this rare occasion to work in His Vineyard. Our labor for the Lord in the month of May has reached in seven provinces out of the ten provinces we have in Zambia. 

Once again we continue to unite our Alumni and current student body working together as we passed the month of May, besides the classes we are busy planning our gospel campaign on the copper belt in Chingola, and we have had a quiet busy month.

AN ATMOSPHERE OF EXPECTANCE

A lot is being expected at BVBI-Zambia on the Copper belt Province and Zambia at Large. The preachers we are training are expected to be present in most of Christian assemblies here on the copper belt while most of our Alumni are actively involved there is still a great shortage of preachers in most congregations.

We have started filling the gap in most of the congregation on the copper belt especially, Luanshya, Kitwe, Mufulira, Mpongwe, Chingola district and now Kasumbalesa the boarder district with D.R. Congo. We continue to create an atmosphere of intimacy (a closeness that should make us God’s Family), warm (love) as we train laborers in His vineyard. Just at the end of the month of May we received Leaders from Chingola district where our students are expected to evangelize the area, and these Leaders had words of encouragement to the Institute and the work being done.

SHORT COURSE

Brother Kennedy Mukuka taught a short course about the New Testament Church, this was a one week course which is according to our School curriculum. Our students were very happy and excited to receive him for the second time. In the same capacity we are expecting Brother Ebenezer Udofia from Kenya for more in Agriculture representing Healing Hand International.

LEADERSHIP MEETING

We had a very successful meeting with most leaders on the copper-belt province. The churches of Christ are now ready for the Gospel campaign meeting coming in between June and July. Twenty three (23) members among them Elders, Deacons, and Evangelists were in attendance. The meeting was very successful with most leaders donating to the budget of the meeting which will be held for 4 days.

Our students are expected to sensitize the gospel meeting and about sixteen congregations on the copper belt are expected to be there in attendance. 

OUR GARDEN/ INSTITUTE PLOT

We continue to impart knowledge and skill to our students in the field of Agriculture. Our Garden of Onion, cabbage and pumpkins have continued to grow attracting members of the church and community for greater work remembering the words in Luke 10:17 “the laborer is worthy of his hire” and Paul said “if a man will not work, let him not eat” (2 Thess. 3:10). We need to do more especially at our own land.

We have acquired the land for the Institute which is 60*100 meters where we have intention to build the school and other extra activities for Agriculture to be taken there. Please keep us in your prayers that this becomes a reality for the School in Zambia       

BAPTISM /RESTORATIONS

We have recorded sixteen (16) baptisms on the copper belt of which nine (9) were recorded in Kitwe and one (1) from Northern Province through our Alumni Levy Silungwe, three (3) from Lupula province. We have also recorded four (4) restorations in Lusaka through our former students Daniel, Simon and Richard. In the same development we have had three (3) restoration from Clive in southern province and seven (7) in the same province from Tryvin, Abiton Siamachila and Daniel Kapata

 We have recorded a total number of thirty (30) baptisms and a total number of fourteen (14) restorations for the month of May.

CONCLUSION  

We solicit your prayers for our students, Institute administration and the church at large here in Zambia, as we “grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord and savior, Jesus Christ”. Your prayers and our deliberate commitment and the wonderful grace of God can keep all of us focused on the important.

Successful campaign in Kenya

This is to let brethren know that we, at Kenya School of Preaching_ Kisumu, have on this day of June 6th, 2025, given our students a break till July 7th 2025 when we will continue with classes for the fourth quarter. 

The students have enjoyed a good time with their short course instructor, Mike Rowand as well as Afrrican teachers: Charles, David, Phabian and Elias.

While in school, the students managed to help plant a local congregation at Bondo, one of the towns in the region in which a church had died. This happened when they, (together with their instructors), went there on a Friday morning, joined other preachers and remained there till Sunday evening after worship. Three baptisms were performed, some older members revived and new Christians found who visited Bondo Town and the Univetsity there.Two other baptisms were also performed  from other places, a total of five. A church has been established at Bondo and many have access to hear the gospel and worship. Please  pray for her numerical and spiritual growth!

Many Baptisms Celebrated in Gueckedou, Guinea

GUECKEDOU BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE OPERATIONS ACTIVITY REPORT FOR MAY 2025

Greetings in the Lord beloved,

By His grace we were able to go through the month of May and are grateful not only for the support for the work we do through that support, but especially for the breath of life and good health from our heavenly Father. For these reasons, we are glad to report to and share with our able supporters and well wishers respectively, the events which transpired here at the Gueckedou Bear Valley Bible institute for the month of May 2025.

As usual, there were the classroom activities of exams and lectures, as well as the outdoor activities of evangelistic follow up works and that of the evangelistic teams work all of which was well especially again with many conversions.

Classroom: 

After a week of exams for the completion of the third quarter courses, we were able to cover 3 additional categories of courses in the fourth quarter. These were: Pastoral Epistles, Church History and Homiletics 2 with brothers Etienne Millimouno and Francis Lavaley who did the last 2.

Congregational Follow-ups:

Since April and especially during the month of May we have had a series of challenges, yes, great challenges of how to keep up with the multiple congregations being planted here around Gueckedou. Our last report in April listed 10 new churches. The rather happy problems or challenges are not only for Sunday worship, but for regular care and personal evangelism around those churches. So our students, staff, team leaders, and some of the men in the new congregations have been working hard to keep up with these exercises. A short church leaders training program to help sustain these churches is scheduled to take place in June. There were 7 additional baptisms around Gueckedou during this follow up work. Then at Lola where we started the church through a cross-border evangelism in April, there were 3 conversions reported. The church at Lola which is after Nzerekor some 265 klm from Gueckedou has now increased to at least 26 members.

The Conakry team also baptised 1 soul in Coyah making a total of 11 baptisms through follow up works in May.

Evangelistic Teams work:

To the glory of God Almighty, even though some parts of the mission field are difficult, we are making much progress in other areas. Here around Gueckedou, congregations are being planted every week by evangelistic team members and the combined efforts of our staff and students.

Here is the list of 8 congregations planted in May, the number of baptisms at initial preaching, the date and by whom.

1. Bawa-tongui of Fangamandou sous-préfecture - 19 baptisms on 3rd May by Bear Valley students and the Gueckedou team members.

2. Kondoma of Fangamandou sous-préfecture - 16 baptisms on 4th May by Bear Valley students and the Gueckedou team.

3. Tongolo of Temessadou Djigbo sous-préfecture - 4 baptisms on 5th May by the Koundou L-bengou team.

4. Kassadou Daye of Temessadou Djigbo sous-préfecture - 11 baptisms on 4th May by the Koundou L-bengou team.

5. Sagbeh of Temessadou Djigbo sous-préfecture - 13 baptisms on 16th May by Bear Valley students and Gueckedou team.

6. Koliguido of Nongoa sous-préfecture - 19 baptisms on 25th May by members of the Ouende Kenema and Gueckedou teams plus one Bear Valley student.

7. Gueckedou-pombo of Temessadou Djigbo sous-préfecture - 12 baptisms on 28th May by Koundou L-bengou team members. This is the 2nd trip here. Both Bear Valley staff and the Koundou L-bengou team made the first unsuccessful campaign on March 14th.

8. Kendou Kama of Koundou Lengo-bengou sous-préfecture - 15 baptisms on 29 th May by the Koundou L-bengou team.

Efforts of the above evangelistic teams along with some Bear Valley students alone converted 109 souls in May. The overall number of baptisms is given below in the conclusion passage.

Worship Halls:

With the increase of congregations in many villages, there is a great challenge for worship halls for which we need help from any volunteers!

During the month under review, the month of May, we were able through brother Steven Ashcraft to roof 3 buildings in the villages of Botema, Yiffo and Yende-bawa of Temessadou Djigbo. Then the Niceville church, USA through brother Ken Stanley, who is also helping with this building work of roof and cement-plastering of some of the halls, also provided the roofing cost for the congregation at Maadou of Gbolodou sous préfecture.

Conclusion:

The preacher training is going well as students are being engaged in the classroom and practical exercise of preaching and evangelism.

Then we have the evangelistic teams along with other efforts, both of which planted 8 congregations. In all, the total number of baptisms for evangelistic teams and follow up works in May amounted to 120 souls.

We are grateful to Almighty God and we thank and appreciate you all, our supporters and well wishers for helping us to make Heaven rejoice through the many conversions despite the challenges of bad roads, worship halls, etc!!

BVBI in Nigeria Celebrates Successful Evangelistic Campaign

REPORT OF THE BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE NIGERIA– WARRI CENTER

MAY 2025 

INTRODUCTION

Recalling the events of the month of May is a testament to the goodness of God as the Bear Valley family continues to make an impact in various parts of the world. The impacts could not have been possible if not for the tireless and God-loving brethren who constantly provide the resources, as well as the logistics, for the wonderful work that is being done in different parts of the world. May the Father of all grace bless us all as we continue to navigate through the challenges.

DSC CENTER

The course for the month was Biblical Geography by Abiola Vincent. At the end of the study, students were able to understand the following: Historical background of the Bible and the various physical features of the Old Testament World and Journeys of the Patriarchs with the aid of a Map. 2. The Journeys of Christ in Palestine and the Political history of that time. 3. The Journeys of the early disciples of Christ. 4. Definition of the following terms: a. Geographic Study b. Geography c. Geology d. Theology e. Biblical Chronology. A total of four students sat for the examination.

PTI CENTER

In the month under review, the director, Solomon Usim, led the students through the study of the preacher and his work. It was an eye-opening class because the author of the material did a fantastic job of revealing the ramifications of the challenges and expectations of the work of a preacher. It was indeed a blessing, not just to the students, but also to the instructor. The lesson considered four major areas: the preacher and his preparations and delivery, the preacher and his family, the preacher and the elders, and the preacher and his exit. One interesting part is that preachers must learn how to quietly exit the church when the center can no longer hold. It is a difficult thing to note that the congregation no longer enjoys the services of the preacher, yet the preacher is lording it over the brethren. A total of 14 persons attended the class.

UGHELLI CENTER

Godwin Ojocheogwu led the discussion through the books of 1 & 2 PETER AND JUDE. The counsel from the books includes, but not limited to, the following: guard the truth, grow in godliness, and stay alert for Christ’s return. Peter’s epistles encourage believers to stand firm in their faith during times of suffering, reminding them of their identity in Christ and their future inheritance. The book of Jude is a short letter in the New Testament, which is centered on contending for the faith and warning against false teachers who distort the gospel and lead others astray. Jude urges believers to defend the true Christian faith. This sets the tone for the entire letter. Jude strongly warns against certain individuals who have secretly slipped into the church and that God’s judgment is certain. Six out of about 10 students attended the class.

GANA CENTER

Gabi Alaba discussed Writing, Language, and Research. This is one course that may seem odd in the discipline of Biblical studies, yet its relevance cannot be undermined. It supplies the students with an understanding of the rules, functions, and operations of basic English. This is necessary because without an understanding of language, the Bible truth remains hidden and unreachable. Therefore, this course is packed with writing skills, communication skills, research strategies, and several other related matters. At Gana Agbarha Centre, 10 students were in attendance; with good participation.

EVANGELISM CAMPAIGN

Summary of the Evangelism Campaign at Agbarha-Otor on the 30 & 31st May, 2025. On Friday night, there were over 60 persons in attendance. This included prospects and brethren. The Bear Valley instructors spoke throughout the open-air session. On Saturday, 31st May, was the day for door-to-door Evangelism. There were over 100 persons in attendance. This was inclusive of some members of the Bear Valley students and faculty members as well as Bear Valley Warri Alumni. In fact, brethren within the Agbarha-Otor community came out en masse to support the programme. The community people were receptive. It was an awesome experience to share God’s word with the Oghara Agbarha people. At the time of compiling this report, no baptism had been recorded.

STATISTICS

1.  Number of Students: Fifty-nine (64), Seventeen (17) at PTI, Twenty-seven (27) at DSC and twenty (20) at Ughelli /Gana center.

7.  Number of Teachers: Seven (7)

Note that although about 18 people graduated, there are one or two courses that they have left to take.

Conclusion

The month of May was an interesting month, especially because of the evangelism programme at Oghara Agharah Otor. We are thankful to God for guiding the faculty and students, as well as all other brethren who were in attendance.

Port Harcourt Anticipates Third Graduation

JUNE 2025, REPORT FROM BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE PORT HARCOURT, RIVERS STATE NIGERIA, WEST AFRICA
Lectures are going on at our two centers. We are teaching two courses in one month in each of our two centers. At the end of May 2025, we concluded Exams on the book of Revelation and Old Testament History 1 and 2. New courses are coming up this month of June, beginning Friday 6th June 2025. 

ANOTHER SET OF OUR STUDENTS WILL COMPLETE THE REQUIRED NUMBER OF COURSES IN THE MONTH OF JULY, 2025.
As reported in our last report, we have another set of our students who will complete the 48 courses and 3 elective courses at the end of next month (July 2025). We are happy that another set of students will soon be due for graduation. And that will be our 3rd graduation within the period of 6 years of existence in Port Harcourt Rivers State Nigeria. The outgoing of the 3rd set will give room for new admissions. We are already campaigning for prospective students for admission.

NEW STUDENT’S ADMISSION DRIVE IS ON THE WAY
From this month of June 2025, the director and teachers will begin visitations to congregations in Port Harcourt and other areas within Rivers State, Nigeria, to campaign for prospective students’ admission into our schools. The planned visitations to the congregations will begin on Sunday 8th June 2025. We will continue the visitations until we get a reasonable number of students in each of our centres to replace the outgoing ones.  

STUDENTS AND TEACHERS EVANGELISM OUTREACH IN THE MONTH OF MAY, 2025
In the month of May 2025; the teachers and students of Bear Valley Bible Institute Port Harcourt Nigeria, went out for evangelism outreach at Omachi community in Port Harcourt Rivers State Nigeria. At the evangelism program, the students and teachers went to houses, shops and streets, preached the gospel of Christ and distributed gospel tracts. At the end of the Evangelism program, we got some prospects who promised to worship with the local congregation in the area.

ONE OF OUR STUDENTS GOT MARRIED ON THE MONTH OF JUNE, 2025.
On 3rd May, 2025, one of our students, who is also a preacher of a local congregation in Port Harcourt, got married. Our students in Port Harcourt centre were in the marriage ceremony to celebrate with him.

GREETINGS

 Greetings to you all in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord. 

We are exceedingly grateful to God for your unalloyed support to us in equipping workers for our master’s work. 

 We will continue to put in our best no matter the challenges we are facing.

SCHOOL EVENT 

 Lectures didn't hold most Saturdays as some days were rescheduled to another time due to security reasons. Fulani herdsmen infiltrated Imo state and were blocking roads and kidnapping people, hence it affected some of our days.

OUTREACH 

We are still working with preachers in Owerri for the revival of the congregation in Umuago in Imo state. To the glory of God, most of the members who left are now back to the fold, and as of the last Sunday of May, the congregation has grown to 20 members.

We are still in search of  a volunteer minister who will be stationed there.

UPCOMING EVENTS

 We are still working on our schedule to host a two-day preachers and church leaders workshop in collaboration with Amaigbo congregation.

STUDENTS

We have a total of 26  students now, those with commitment with regular attendance dangles between 14 and 16.

Although some of them are passing through financial difficulties, which is affecting their transportation to school.

We want to sincerely thank you all for finding us useful. We assure you that we must keep the flag high and your confidence in us will not be in vain while you pray for us.

Nigerian School conducts Door to Door Evangelism

It is my pleasure to bring to you the work report of last month from the study center here in Jalingo Taraba State. 

Our class activities continue as usual, as brother Bala Egbwakoteh taught the students the Major Prophets. 

Our students, with the instructors, continue to teach and preach in various congregations assigned to them by the school evangelism coordinator. Total number of 18 Bible studies were conducted involving 46 people during door to door evangelism. A family of three was restored back to faith during an indoor lectureship at the Church of Christ Iware where one of our students, Kingsley Francis, preaches.

Students in South Sudan start New Congregations

Greetings brothers, and happy new month. 

As our students are home, I would like to share with you the activities that they are getting involved in and new congregations that they have started.

Evangelism 

In Aweil, there is one new congregation started by one of our Mariano, which is getting good attendance for 2 weeks so far. And again we have in Jonglei Uror County a new congregation started by Mading Majieth, with few number as 6, at his home village. Others have joined their old congregations and are helping their congregations with church activities on a Sunday basis.

Baptism 

In Aweil, they baptized 11 souls overall results in 8 congregations.

And I Uror Mading has baptized 2 souls.

School Opening 

We are still 3 weeks away from the opening of the school, which is the 27th of this month, and classes resume on 30th Monday June.

We will still update you on their activities.

Abia State, Nigeria Celebrates Six Graduates

REPORT OF THE NIGERIAN INSTITUTE OF ARTS AND THEOLOGICAL STUDIES / BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE – NIGERIA

MAY 2025

The goal of the Institute of Arts and Theological studies, Ntigha Onicha Ngwa, is to train men and women and provide them with the necessary skills- as well as the ability- to discern and apply the principles and values learned in the school to enable function and excel in the congregations where they serve. While we have teachers to guide, the curriculum provided by Bear Valley Bible Institute gives in-depth knowledge of the Scriptures. This is the idea behind the motto of the school: Wisdom for Service. Upon resumption, the school staff gathered to design the way forward for the semester. In the course of the year, the school, in conjunction with annual lectureships programs, have had over 30 baptisms. The students have been equipped and still being equipped for weekend evangelism as they help congregations far and near to achieve the goal of spreading the message of the cross till all have heard.

Library

In order to have quality education, the school has secured the services of a new librarian. Mr. Abba John is constantly present and lives on campus. He provides both teaching and library services to the students. He also mans the digital library provided by Chad Wagner. The students are able to do good research with the available books. Hard copy books that meet the needs of the time are being secured, too. In fact, the school has purchased new hard-copy books. She has also received a series of Spiritual Sword materials. The library is growing gradually. The students are beginning to embark on research and are excited about new discoveries. The graduating class is excited about the availability of both digital and hard copy materials for their project writing.

Infrastructural Development

The school is beginning to mold blocks to enable her to complete a two-block classroom as well as instructors’ offices. Furthermore, the school is working on renovating the school hostels, too. These are done in preparation for the intake exams and subsequent intake by August, 2025. More importantly, there is constant power supply from the Aba Power Limited. This means that the students have constant water supply as well power supply to enable them to accomplish their academic requirements with ease. Things are just getting better.

Matriculation/Graduation

The school is excited to announce that this year, a set of six students will be graduating from the school. They have given their time to studying and the instructors have done their part to help them as they go on their way into the preaching work. Moreover, with the new life being experienced, NIATS/BEAR VALLEY-calls have been coming requesting to know the NIATS/BV admission requirements. This means a lot to the faculty and staff of the institution. To this end, it is important to note that the school will welcome, God willing, more students this year.

Medical Facility

The presence and closeness of the Nigerian Christian Hospital (NCH) Nlagu, has a wonderful effect. The hospital is there to serve the medical needs of the school. We are grateful to all the support from both the secondary school and the hospital. In the last report, it was hinted that one of the gatemen was admitted at the NCH. Unfortunately, Mr. Okoro passed on. He died of hepatitis disease. This has brought some difficulties both to the school and the immediate family of the diseased man. The school has since visited the wife and children. The burial date is yet to be communicated. The school solicits your prayers and support in this regard.

Gospel Campaign

The Evangelism and Discipleship Seminar held at Church of Christ Zonal Board-Afor Une, Aba Abia State was a two-day impactful event aimed at equipping believers with biblical tools for soul-winning and spiritual growth. The seminar was organized through the collaborative efforts of the local church leadership and the outreach department of Nigerian Institute of Arts and Theological Studies. This event was born out of a burden to identify and strengthen struggling local churches through Biblical training and encouragement.

The seminar was attended by 30 participants from the Church of Christ Zonal Board and staff and students of the Nigerian Institute of Arts and Theological Studies. The audience included church leaders, youth representatives, and evangelism team members. Facilitators from the Bible College and the Nigerian Christian Hospital Chaplaincy, Nlagu included Usim Solomon, Chidi Chibunna, and Bro. Nnaemeka Josiah coordinated the local church, all of whom brought sound biblical instruction and practical insights.

The seminar proved timely and transformative. It not only trained believers in the practice of evangelism and discipleship, but also revived hope among a small congregation facing stagnation. More importantly, it signaled the need for deliberate efforts to discover and confirm struggling churches. By standing together, teaching truth, and bearing one another’s burdens, the Body of Christ is made stronger. At the time of this report, there has been no baptism.

Conclusion

We are grateful to God Almighty for His endless blessings. We are also thankful to all our supporters. We pray that your support will never be in vain, rather it will be a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God (Phil 4:18). The work continues in hope of a greater fulfilment.

April–May 2025 Ministry Report

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are grateful for your continued prayers, support, and encouragement throughout this challenging academic year.

Graduation 2025

We are pleased to announce that two students, Vadym and Maksym, will graduate this year from the Bear Valley Bible Institute in Ukraine. The graduation ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 26. Both students have successfully completed all the courses required by the Institute’s administration and will receive their diplomas. Lord willing, they will also continue their studies in the Master’s program, which is a great joy and encouragement for all of us.

Ongoing War and Prayer Request

Unfortunately, the military conflict in Ukraine continues. At this time, it is too early to speak of any peaceful resolution. We ask you to continue fervently praying for peace in Ukraine, for the protection of our people, and for strength and wisdom as we keep serving the Lord during these difficult times.

Faculty and Teaching Ministry

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our Ukrainian instructors, who have remained committed and faithful throughout this academic year. We are also deeply grateful to our brothers from the United States, who continue to support us with their time, teaching, and resources. The collaboration between Ukrainian and American teachers has produced excellent results, and we thank God for such a strong, dedicated teaching team.

We are especially encouraged by the active ministry work of our graduates, who now serve as preachers in various local churches across Ukraine. For example, just a few days ago, brother Oleh Fafanov baptized a woman in Uzgorod church—she is now our sister in Christ! These events are taking place in many congregations where our former students serve. It brings us great joy and pride to witness the fruit of this ministry. Truly, Ukraine is a field where the Word of God is being sown and is already producing a harvest.

Looking Ahead

We are excited to report that three new students have already committed to join the program in September, and we hope that more students will enroll during the summer months. The future of this work looks bright, and we pray for continued growth and impact.

Quarterly Report 

BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE – NHOWE EXTENSION 

January – April 2025

Introduction 

We give all glory to God for His faithfulness in guiding Bear Valley Bible Institute – Nhowe Mission through the first quarter of 2025. The academic staff and students have experienced tremendous growth, both spiritually and academically, as they continue to equip themselves for effective ministry. We deeply appreciate Bear Valley Bible Institute International for its unwavering support, resources, and guidance, which have been instrumental in shaping this institution into a beacon of sound Biblical teaching.  

This report contains: Completion of Key Academic Courses– Strengthening Biblical knowledge and preaching skills; Outreach Campaign at Berrymore Church of Christ – Reviving a rural congregation through evangelism and Student Involvement in Nhowe Mission Schools and Hospital – Daily spiritual leadership and counseling.  

1.0 Academic Progress: Completed Courses and Their Impact  

The first quarter saw the successful completion of the following courses:  1 & 2 Peter and Jude – Students gained deep insights into perseverance, false teachings, and godly living.  World Religions – Equipped students to engage different faiths with biblical truth.  Hermeneutics – Enhanced proper Biblical interpretation for accurate teaching.  Denominational Doctrines – Prepared students to defend the faith against doctrinal errors.  

Impact on Preaching and Teaching:

These courses have significantly sharpened the students’ ability to teach and preach with clarity and conviction. Many have reported increased confidence in handling complex theological issues, refuting false doctrines, and encouraging congregations through sound exposition of Scripture.  

2.0 Outreach Campaign at Berrymore Church of Christ  

In February, students and staff conducted a preaching outreach at Berrymore Church of Christ, a rural congregation located 30km from Nhowe Mission. The focus was on revival and strengthening the church, which had been experiencing spiritual decline.  An Evangelism instructor – Mr Manyanhaire, a preacher, led the students on the evangelism effort.

Key Highlights:

1. Evangelistic Sermons – Addressing faith, commitment, and church growth.  

2. Personal Bible Studies – Engaging members in one-on-one discipleship.  

3. Logistical Support – Appreciation to staff who led the campaign and students who provided personal vehicles for evangelism effort.

Follow-Up Efforts: To ensure lasting impact, follow-up visits and Bible studies are being conducted to sustain the congregation’s spiritual growth.  

3.0 Students’ Involvement in Nhowe Mission Schools and Hospital  

The students of Bear Valley Bible Institute – Nhowe Mission are actively involved in ministering to: 

a) Nhowe Mission Primary and High School

Daily Devotions - Bear Valley Students lead spiritual sessions for over 1,000 children. Sunday Services – conducting morning and evening worship. Wednesday Bible Studies – Strengthening the faith of young learners.  

b) Nhowe Mission Hospital

Hospital Devotions - Providing spiritual encouragement to patients and staff. Counseling Sessions – Offering biblical guidance to those in distress. We appreciate Dr. Mashaire, the Hospital Superintendent (also a student), for facilitating these ministry opportunities.  

CONCLUSION AND FUTURE PLANS  

This quarter has been a season of growth, outreach, and spiritual impact. The students and staff have demonstrated dedication in teaching, evangelism, and service, fulfilling the mission of Bear Valley Bible Institute.  We pray God to lead in the upcoming events at Nhowe Mission!

Future Plans: 

1. Expand outreach programs to more rural congregations.  

2. Strengthen partnerships with local churches for continued discipleship.  

3. Enhance practical ministry training through more hospital and school engagements. 

We trust God for greater milestones in the coming months as we continue training faithful preachers and transforming communities through the Gospel.

School in Nigeria Prepares for a Second Study Center

Second Quarter Report of May

*Introduction*
All glory must be to the Lord Almighty, for He alone is worthy of our praise. And to the management board of the international and national body of Bear Valley Bible Institute worldwide.
The principal, goals, and objectives of BVBI Family were observed within the period of writing this report, and will continue to be the paramount goal of the BVBIN Enugu Study Center.
We are grateful to God for another quarter to work for Him.

*I. ACTIVITIES*
1. As reported earlier on 3/4/2025, between last month April to this May , the course hold in April was Acts of the apostles by Onwuka Kelechukwu.      
This May is handled by Sunday Utobo personal Evangelism 1, as in accordance with the newly developed curriculum.
2. We have 15 prospects to follow up.
3. The earliest propose kick off of the second study center located at Emene could not hold as we are unable to meet up with logistics, we rescheduled the kick off to be first week of June by God's grace, we have 15 registered students.
4. Through the effort of the director and the students, a soul was restored back to faith at the church of Christ Garriki.
