FEBRUARY 2023 FIELD REPORT

Beloved in Christ Jesus,

Grace, Peace and Mercy be multiplied unto you all from God our Father and from Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Here is the summary of our activities for the month of February 2023.

REPORT FROM SOME OF VOTI RECEPIENTS:

Bro. John Ehimiyein of Benin City, Edo State reported that the 500 booklets was shared to churches of Christ in and outside Benin City in January and February 2023.

Bro. M.B. Archibong reported the conversion of seven souls at Atan Odot and Odukpani village of Akwa-Ibom State during their February 3-5 WBS Seminar.

WEEKEND EVANGELISM/OUTREACH:

In spite of the scarcity of fuel and introduction of the new naira notes which has caused hardship for many Nigerians, our students and staff still endeavored to carry out the weekend Evangelism outreach in eleven different centers that led to the conversion of five souls and restoration of a family of four in the month of February 2023.

NAIRA SWAP IN NIGERIA:

From the commercial nerve center of the country, Lagos to the oil rich City- Port Harcourt in Rivers State and back to Kano State, it has been a frustrating story as we Nigerians masses suffer untold hardship to access cash to sort out our daily needs. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)trickly besieged Nigerian to deposit their old currencies (N200; N500; N1,000) to Bank before January 30, they later announced the extension of the deadline to February 10,2023.

The sad things is that, after we masses had deposited our old currencies in the Bank with the hope that our various Banks will begin to give us the new naira notes, it has been a great disappointment as the Banks have failed to do the needful.

In fact, many Nigerians on daily basis will report to their different banks as early as 4:00am in the morning just to queue to get number for the new notes from the ATMs as directed by the CBN but rather than getting the maximum daily withdrawal of N20,000 , few will get N5,000 and those in the banking hall will get N1,000 new naira note or N3,000 dirty N50 or N100 notes while many will go home empty handed after spending a whole day in the banks. WHAT A GREAT MESS !
