Getting closer to normal in Lagos Island

REPORT OF THE BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE – LAGOS ISLAND CENTER,  July 2020 - September 2020.

INTRODUCTION: Jehovah God promised to hold our hands in times like this and he did hold our hands. The lockdown has finally been eased in Lagos, Nigeria and activates coming back to normal. However, part of the new normal is social distancing and facemask all the places. On the other hand, we thank God that this August makes a year that the Lagos Island Center started. Thanks to all who facilitated the starting of this project in one way or the other. We started with 14 students and 12 are still regular in class. We thank God for this is about 90 in percentage and an excellent score in rating.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES: We are going to the 13th circle in our academic calendar in our center. The pandemic challenges took three months from us which we are going to work out plans to recover them in due time. Students are doing wonderfully well. Bro Lucky Uzoyere from Ikorodu center just finished teaching the Book of Galatians. Meanwhile, Bro Emmanuel Odoh from Agege taught Godhead and Bro Godwin Frank taught Denominational Doctrine. Two staff and a student were part of the 18th graduation ceremony on our main campus in Butubutu, Ibadan. Bro Olufemi Adewuyi took a lesson on prayer while I delivered the graduation speech.

WBS ONLINE STUDY HELPER: It is still of great pleasure that I am thanking God who put in the heart of the one who prepared the World Bible School lessons. The Online version has afforded me a great opportunity to accomplish my desire in reaching out with the gospel. Having more than 2400 students online is of great joy to me. I try to mark the lesson of an average of 30 students each day. In the past three months, 5 students completed their courses. 4 among the prospects have indicated interest to obey the gospel. They are being followed up in different locations as the closest congregation to them had been contacted.

CHALLENGES: The traffic congestion in Lagos is making attendance to class very challenging. The bad road and congestion have increased the cost of transportation.

CONCLUSION: As we are all getting out of the pandemic, we pray that God bless our sponsors so they will continue to do the good work they are doing in this part of the world. There is a transformation going on in the church which will bring rapid growth in the church over time.

Thanks and God bless you.
