Praise and glory be to Jehovah God for His mighty protection upon instructors and students, throughout traveling within the first quarter of 2025, by His grace all instructors and students were punctual to classes and to all the programs within this quarter.

1)      COURSES THAT WERE TAUGHT DURING THIS FIRST QUARTER OF 2025

The year began with the teaching of Old Testament 1 (The Law), in February 2025 Old Testament 2 (History) was presented, the Last course taught during the quarter was Old Testament 3 (The books of Poetry/Wisdom Literature).

2)      STUDENTS AND STAFF CAMPAIGNS

House to house evangelism with the students at Dr. Berko and Nwawasua townships were conducted. As a result of one challenges of a meeting place the Nwawasua Church is yet to be planted. The total number of baptisms at the end of the first quarter was five baptisms.

3)   STUDENTS AND INSTRUCTOR’S PARTICIPATION IN A ONE-DAY SEMINAR HELD BY BRO. JOE CORNEL: A MISSIONARY FROM USA

Instructors and students participated in a one-day seminar which was conducted by brother Joe Cornell in Sunyani on Tuesday 7th January, 2025.

Extended School in Nkoranza, Ghana Plans to Plant Two Churches

REPORT FOR FIRST QUARTER 2025

PREAMBLE

The Bear Valley Institute in Nkoranza is making a head way in preacher training and evangelism, though Nkoranza Bible School has been in existence for the past 8 years. When Bear Valley came on board last year, the school had grown from strength to strength when partnered with Bear Valley. Resources received have contributed immensely. We praised and thanked God for helping and protecting us to achieve such a wonderful feat. We are also grateful to our sponsors for responding to our needs.

OVERVIEW

The Nkoranza study center is one of the evangelistic schools in Ghana propagating the gospel and assisting congregations in teaching and preaching. The population of the school is 16 of which 8 of the students completed 24 courses before the partnership, they are expected to graduate God willing in the third quarter of 2026.

COURSES AND EVANGELISTIC ACTIVITIES

As of the end of the first quarter (March 2025) students have completed and examined on Christian Leadership, Hermeneutics, and Life of Christ 1. We have entered their results into the student database.

In the next quarter, thus April to June we were expected to treat courses in the Life of Christ 2, 3, and 4. With the help of digital libraries received, teaching and learning is moving on well.

Even though we did not organize a gospel campaign as a school, individual students and staff took part in personal evangelism with some baptism. Ghana’s Independence Day is 6th of March. On that day Rexford together with the evangelism committee of Sunyani central church embarked on street evangelism and tracts distribution on the principal streets of Sunyani, we distributed more than three thousand Bible tracts on that day, we were able to get some prospects who have started visiting nearby congregations.

PROJECTION FOR THE NEXT QUARTER

As an evangelistic institution we have planned to reach out to many souls in the next quarter by expanding our gospel campaign activities to Nkoranza area where the gospel has not yet reached, we are hoping to expand the kingdom beyond.

We have planned to plant two churches within the year. Hoping to plant one in the next quarter and possibly another in the third quarter God willing.

Our students and staff are well prepared to engage in that Godly assignment. Hoping to convert many to Christ by collaborating with churches eager to evangelize.

It is our hope that God will help our partners to continue support us in that regard.

THE STUDENT’S PROFILE

Brother George Borah is a member of the Lord’s church and a student of Bear Valley Bible Institute Nkoranza campus. He was the twelve son of Mr. Kwaku Awale and Mad. Abena Ackah all of blessed memory. He was born on 21st December, 1993 at Dromankese in the Nkoranza North Municipality of Bono East Region Ghana.

He was baptized on the 10th of January, 2012 in Dromankese, he had his Senior High Education at Busunya Senior High School and graduated from Sunyani Technical University in 2022 awarded with Higher National Diploma in Purchasing and Supply.

Brother George was raised by his late mother, his father passed on when he was 6 months old, he has really suffered in life. Among his siblings he is only member of the Lord's church. Brother George is yet to marry, his passion is to propagate the gospel to the lost and reach out to those in need. He took active part in gospel campaigns and church planting activities.

On Saturday 1st February, 2025 brother George Borah came to write exams on Christian Leadership at Nkoranza Campus, upon returning to Dromankese, fire guttered his residence and burned the whole house into ashes without picking anything. The unfortunate aspect is that he is seeking employment after graduation from the tertiary.

Notwithstanding, Brother George Borah enjoyed reading Job 1:20-22 “Then Job arose, tore his robe and shook his head and fell to the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb and naked I shall return. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away”. Even though Brother George Borah lost everything but still trust in the Lord for replenishment.

FIRST QUARTER REPORT, 2025

Introduction

Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. The following were our activities for the first quarter of 2025.

Classroom Activities

There were three courses offered this quarter; 1 & 2 Peter and 1, 2, 3 John & Jude, both taught by Wisdom Yirenkyi, and Marriage and Family Life by Emmanuel Yaw Amoo-Gyimah.

Impact on Congregations

Our students continue to teach and preach in their local congregations, making a massive impact. I visited the Okushibiade Golden City church. The minister of the congregation, our alumnus Yaw Boadu, truly impressed me with the good work taking place, all spearheaded by Brother Boadu. May this long continue, and may God’s holy name be praised.

Funeral Activity

As reported last quarter, William Danso passed away on December 10. Therefore, on March 15, we attended his burial service in his hometown of Kwahu Praso. As mentioned previously, we won’t grieve like those without hope. We will continue to live and work for God’s glory, trusting that we will see Brother Danso again in the sweet by and by.

Student Profile

Brother Shadrack Ojun is the student we are focusing on this quarter. He is a leader of the student group at Nsawam. He attends the Nsawam Road Church of Christ, where he serves as a teacher in the class for new converts. He also works for the World Bible School. He is very promising, and we are glad to have him with us. 

Conclusion

We are grateful for Bear Valley’s assistance during this quarter. We pray for God’s blessings in this regard. And brethren, please continue to pray for us.

The first quarter of the 2025 academic year began on Friday, January 3, 2025, and concluded on Saturday, March 29, 2025. During this period, the school successfully completed three key courses aimed at deepening students' understanding of important biblical topics:

• World Religions

• Homiletics II

• Wisdom Literature

Student Report

The first quarter of the 2025 academic year began on a strong and positive note, with students displaying great dedication and enthusiasm toward their studies. Attendance was very encouraging throughout January and February.

However, as the quarter progressed, there was a noticeable decline in attendance during March due to various factors, including work schedules and commitments to assignments from their congregations. While this decline was concerning, efforts were made to reach out to the affected students and encourage their return.

On average, class attendance stood at eight (8) students per session, reflecting a steady level of commitment despite the slight drop in numbers toward the end of the quarter. Beyond attendance, students demonstrated a high level of engagement through their contributions to discussions, their eagerness to ask insightful questions, and their overall participation in classroom activities.

House-to-House Evangelism Update

During the first quarter, there was no major evangelism event. However, individual students were sent to various community churches, including Gomoa Asebu-Pomadze, Awutu Breku Twiime, Santor Central, and North Atomic. After worship services, they joined these congregations in their house-to-house evangelism efforts, providing opportunities for both edification and outreach.

Unlike previous quarters, where flexibility was allowed, this time, students followed a structured rotation schedule, ensuring that all assigned communities received student support for worship and evangelism.

To enhance communication and accountability, students were required to report to me through our WhatsApp platform. This system allows them to submit reports on their visits, share testimonies, and provide feedback on their evangelistic encounters on the same day, rather than waiting until class time. This method has significantly improved coordination, enabling me to monitor progress and provide timely guidance as needed.

We thank God, three baptisms were recorded in the first quarter, one at Nmai Djorn-Accra East, one at Awutu Breku Twiime, and one at Santor Central. As we move forward, we continue to pray for greater impact, trusting that our efforts will bring more souls to Christ.

Church Planting Program for 2025

The church planting program is set to take place this year as part of our mission to expand the gospel and establish new congregations. This initiative is crucial in fulfilling the Great Commission, ensuring that more communities have access to sound biblical teaching and a place of worship.

Preparations for planting a new church are currently underway, including a final feasibility study to determine the most suitable locations. One key challenge is not just finding a student willing to lead but ensuring that the selected individual is truly committed to nurturing and growing the new congregation.

Final decisions regarding both the feasibility study and the selection of preachers or students will be concluded in the second quarter of the year. I have full confidence in God that, just as He has guided us in previous years, He will lead us through this year’s church planting efforts as well.

Major Event in the First Quarter

The major event of the quarter was the Bear Valley 7th Graduation Ceremony, held at Serperma Church of Christ. The students of Accra East Campus and I, participated in the ceremony.

Stephen Ashcraft’s Presentation – (International Coordinator & Gospel Minister)

Stephen Ashcraft (Min.), the International Coordinator, addressed the congregation. To our surprise, he expressed his gratitude in Akan, (Twi) Ghana’s widely spoken language, saying: "Meda ase, ɛyɛ paa," which means, "Thank you, it is very good."

This heartfelt gesture conveyed his appreciation for the invitation and his joy in being with us. The entire auditorium was filled with joy and amazement, as no one expected a white brother to speak Twi so fluently. This created a wonderful and uplifting atmosphere.

The Focus of His Presentation

Ashcraft admonished the students not to see their graduation merely as an academic achievement but as a divine calling.

He reminded them:

“You are here because we are sending you into the world to preach Christ, who was crucified. The world is perishing, and you are charged with taking this treasure—the gospel—to them. As Christ sacrificed Himself, you must also sacrifice yourselves so that others may come to Him. Your mission is to seek the lost and teach others to follow Christ. Beyond graduation, you have been commissioned to bring souls to Christ. You are charged to do the work of an evangelist. If you do this faithfully, you will receive the crown of life.” It was an inspiring message, and indeed, we were grateful.

Students’ Representatives Express Gratitude

After receiving their certificates and awards, the student representatives from the Diploma, Bachelor's, and Master’s degree programs expressed their gratitude to God and encouraged themselves and their fellow graduates to remain steadfast in their calling.

Bro. Ahenkora – Representative of the Diploma Students:

Brother Ahenkora stated that they consider it a great privilege to have been trained to carry the message of Christ to the world. They deeply appreciate the E-library provided by the school, which has greatly contributed to their academic and spiritual growth.

Bro. Emmanuel Ahorklo – Bachelor’s Degree Graduate:

He praised God for His divine protection and guidance throughout their studies. He also expressed gratitude to the faculty and management for their dedication and support.

He urged Ghanaian congregations to support the school, ensuring that future students can benefit from the training provided.

Bro. Fred Adams – Master’s Degree Graduate:

He expressed gratitude to God, the faculty, and the coordinator, Kojo Acquah-Beenyi (Min), and all the lecturers for their support. He emphasized that their academic pursuit was not just about intellectual growth but also spiritual development.

As they move forward, he pleaded for continued dedication to serving with integrity, purpose, and devotion to God’s work.

Guest Speaker: John Franklin Tamakloe (Min.)

Topic: How to Be a Good Minister

Evg. John Franklin Tamakloe, one of Ghana’s outstanding preachers, delivered his address based on 1 Timothy 4:16. He encouraged and inspired the students through his message: "You are to be a mirror image of Bear Valley." He emphasized the importance of understanding what Bear Valley Bible Institute stands for, as they are not only representatives of the institution but also bear a great responsibility in their ministry.

Key Points from His Address

·         Take heed of yourselves (1 Timothy 4:16): Live a life that reflects Christ and sets you apart.

·         Stay focused: Avoid distractions and remain fully committed to your ministry.

·         Set clear boundaries: Protect your faith and integrity through spiritual discipline.

·         Understand doctrine Hold to sound doctrine and distinguish truth from personal opinion.

·         Continue growing: Keep learning, studying and improving to lead others to salvation. (Philippians 4:9):

Conclusion

The first quarter of 2025 saw significant progress in both academics and evangelism. As we enter the second quarter, we remain dedicated to academic excellence, evangelistic outreach, and equipping students for ministry. We trust that the seeds sown will bear lasting fruit for the glory of God.

Studies continue in Koforidua, Ghana

BEAR VALLEY BIBLE INSTITUTE, KOFORIDUA

JANUARY – MARCH, 2025

INTRODUCTION

Thanks be to the Almighty father for seeing us through another quarter of studies in preparation to serve our Lord in His Vineyard.

STUDENTS

We have twelve continuing students, but some of them have already completed some of the courses. As a result attendance differs during courses.

CLASSES

As usual we have had three courses taught. Homiletics by Paul Larbi Young. The Gospel of John by Emmanuel Amoo Gyimah and Life of Christ II by wisdom Yirenkyi.

ACTIVITIES

The students will be going round to campaig in May. Our public preaching schedule is from 7th to 11th October, 2025. Preparations are being started by students as they go about preparing what they will be preaching.

Graduations and Baptisms in Ashtown, Ghana

FIRST QUARTER, 2025 REPORT

INTRODUCTION

We give thanks to God for His steadfast love and guidance throughout the first quarter of 2025. This quarterly update showcases the key achievements and developments at Bear Valley Bible Institute, Ash town, from January to March 2025.

COURSES

During this quarter, we successfully delivered three courses. Specifically:

- Emmanuel Larbi led the sessions on Christian Leadership and Christian Ethics.

- Samuel Papa Woode instructed the Greek 2 course.

A total of 18 students participated in these courses, enriching their knowledge and skills.

CHURCH PLANTING

On January 19, 2025, our Director visited the church of Christ, located on Nyanyano Road, Kasoa. The purpose of the visit was to meet with the church leadership and discuss potential collaboration on planting a new church in Kojo Oku, Kasoa.

Initially, we had considered Kojo - Oku as a primary location for our church plant in 2023. However, after careful consideration, we identified potential future challenges. Interestingly, the Nyanyano Road church had also been exploring the possibility of planting a church in the same area.

The meeting with the leadership aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration and determine the best way forward. We are currently awaiting their response to proceed.

ACCRA GRADUATION CEREMONY

On February 15, 2025, our school community gathered at Sarpeiman, Accra, to celebrate the graduation ceremony of three students from the Papaase Campus, which has since merged with our Ash town school. These dedicated students successfully completed their Diploma of Biblical Studies from Bear Valley.

We rejoice with these graduates and pray that God will continue to guide and empower them as they embark on their journey as preachers. In the coming months, we plan to visit these graduates to see firsthand the impactful work they are doing in their respective congregations.

TAMALE GRADUATION CEREMONY

On February 17, 2025, our Director, accompanied by Assistant Coordinators Bro. Ebenezer Amoasi and John Acquah Andoh, traveled to Tamale to attend a graduation ceremony. This trip provided a valuable opportunity for the Director to connect with dedicated preachers who have devoted their lives to serving God.

The Director also gained insight into the graduation hosting traditions in Tamale, which proved to be a enriching experience. We express our gratitude to God for the successful graduation event and for our safe return.

UPDATE ON CHURCH OF CHRIST, ADOM ESTATE, KASOA

On March 2, 2025, our Director visited the church of Christ at Adom Estate, Kasoa, a congregation that our school and Ash town Congregation jointly planted. This visit was a follow-up on the church’s progress, as a previous visit had been missed last quarter.

During the visit, Bro. Kingsley, an alumnus and the church’s substantive preacher, led a Bible class on the topic of Evangelism. We were encouraged to see the congregation’s progress, including the installation of metal windows and electricity at their place of worship. These improvements have enabled them to hold evening prayers and Bible studies.

We continue to pray for God’s guidance and blessings upon this congregation, that they may grow spiritually and numerically.

BAPTISMS

We rejoice and give thanks to God for the remarkable fruit of our students’ evangelistic efforts this quarter! We celebrate the fifteen(15) baptisms that have taken place as a direct result of their dedication to sharing the Gospel. Their hard work and commitment have borne witness to the power of God’s word, and we welcome these new brothers and sisters into the kingdom of God.

Students in Nsawam, Ghana continue to Work

FOURTH QUARTER REPORT, 2024

Introduction

Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. Glory to God for His mercies throughout the year. The following were our activities for the fourth quarter of 2024.

Classroom Activities

Three courses were offered this quarter: Hebrews, taught by Brother Wisdom Yirenkyi; Greek, taught by Brother Samuel Papa-Woode; and Church History, taught by Brother Aidoo.

Church Impact

Our students continue to impact their congregations, through the preaching and teaching of God’s word. Two of our students were part of a team of preachers who organized a lectureship in the Amasaman area to combat certain teachings that want to creep into the churches here in Ghana. Brother Aidoo was invited to speak on prayer at this lectureship. Long may this continue.

Loss of Student

Amidst all the highs, there was one notable low this quarter. On December 10, we lost William Danso, one of our older students to the icy hands of death. William worked as an auto-sprayer and had a fatal accident in his line of duty. While we grieve the loss, we won’t sorrow as hopeless people. We will continue to live and work to God’s glory and hope to see Brother Danso again in the sweet by and by.

Plans for Next Year

1.    Quarterly community radio preaching: We will continue the community radio preaching program which we began last year as a means of giving the students another avenue for practice.

2.     Church planting: Our efforts at planting a church at Akotoshie in Accra in 2024 were not successful due to certain negotiations that failed. We hope to overcome the hurdle and plant the church in 2025.

Student Profile

Brother Shadrach Ojun is our student profile for this quarter. Baptized in 2007 at Kpanda in the Oti region of Ghana, he has grown to become one of the Lord’s strongest workers in this part of the world. Brother Ojun works with the World Bible School and moves especially from school campus to school campus encouraging Ghanaian students to enroll in the program to study God's word. He worships with the Nsawam Road church of Christ in Accra and is an indispensable part of the missions committee. Concerning Bear Valley, Brother Ojun insists that the school stands in the truth and “isn’t biased” when it comes to issues. We are so happy and grateful to have him with us.

FOURTH QUARTER 2024

INTRODUCTION

With hearts full of gratitude, we celebrate God's presence in our lives throughout this quarter. Here are the keys that place in our noble institution.

SCHOOL ESTABLISHMENT

Our school was formally established on November 24, 2024, in Jirapa, Upper West Region, Ghana. The ceremony was graced by Brother James Legend, Administrator of the Tamale campus.

Brother Donzie Thomas was appointed as the Director, tasked with overseeing the school's growth and development.

CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES

During this quarter, we successfully conducted a single course. First Corinthians was taught by Bro. Joseph Anaba, with 12 students in attendance.

CONCLUSION

Our heartfelt thanks go to Bear Valley Leadership and the Brotherhood for founding our school and providing vital financial support. We pray that God richly rewards their kindness and generosity.

Students in Ashtown, Ghana work with Nearby Churches

FOURTH QUARTER REPORT, 2024

INTRODUCTION

We express our heartfelt appreciation to God for His unwavering support throughout the year. Here is an overview of the notable happenings at Bear Valley Bible Institute, Ash town during the fourth quarter of 2024.

CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES

This quarter, our students had the opportunity to take five courses. During the December holidays, students seized the chance to catch up on additional courses. Forty (40) courses have been completed so far. We were grateful for the instruction provided by our dedicated teachers:

- Bro Emmanuel Gyasi Quansah taught Church History. 

- Bro Samuel Papa Wood led the Greek 1 course. 

- Bro Emmanuel Larbi instructed the classes on Congregational Development and Major and Minor Prophets. 

Notably, four students from the Papaase campus had already completed the Major and Minor Prophets courses, so the remaining students took this opportunity to catch up. In total, eighteen students participated in these courses, demonstrating their commitment to their studies.

CHURCH STRENGTHENING 

From November 7th to 9th, the school embarked on a mission to strengthen the church Adom Estate planted the previous year, as plans to establish a new congregation were put on hold. During this period, students engaged in:

- House-to-house evangelism, sharing the Gospel with local residents

- Preaching at the information center, spreading the message to a wider audience

This outreach effort aimed to revitalize and support the existing church, fostering spiritual growth and community engagement.

BAPTISMS 

We rejoice in the Lord’s blessings! This quarter, our students have played a pivotal role in leading seven individuals to baptism. Their dedication to sharing the Gospel has borne fruit, and we praise God for these new additions to His kingdom.

STUDENT PROFILE: ALEX GYASI

Born on May 11, 1984, Bro Alex Gyasi is a 40-year-old devoted Christian from Akim Pramkese in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He is happily married to Patricia Awuah, and they are blessed with three children.

By profession, Bro Alex is a tiller. He has been a faithful member of the Lord’s church for 23 years, currently worshiping with the Krispol City congregation in Kasoa, where he serves as a preacher. The congregation comprises approximately 40 members, excluding children.

Bro Alex expresses his gratitude for being part of Bear Valley, stating that he has gained in-depth knowledge of the Word of God, which has been a valuable blessing in his life.

UPDATE ON MANKOMEDA CHURCH OF CHRIST

The Mankomeda Church of Christ, planted by Bear Valley Bible School (now merged with Ashtown School as of August 2023), continues to grow. Under the leadership of Bro Daniel Kwadwo Nkrumah, a graduate of Bear Valley Bible Institute, the congregation has made notable progress.

The church currently consists of 23 baptized members, with women making up the majority and 17 children. 

As we enter the new year, we will prioritize the needs of the Mankomeda Church of Christ in our planning, ensuring the continued growth and development of this vibrant congregation.

UPDATE ON ADOM ESTATE CHURCH OF CHRIST, KASOA

Although I was unable to visit the Adom Estate Church of Christ this quarter due to my commitments at Pakro Road Church of Christ in Nsawam, I received encouraging reports from the church secretary, who Is also a student at our school.

Key Developments:

- Church attendance remained strong throughout the quarter.

- Bro Kingsley Paul Oti, a Bear Valley alumnus, has been appointed as the congregation’s preacher. We pray for God’s wisdom and guidance as he undertakes this new role.

- The church has successfully acquired its own electricity meter, enhancing its lighting system.

- Starting January 2025, God willing, the congregation plans to hold evening meetings.

We continue to pray for the growth and prosperity of the Adom Estate Church of Christ.

PLANS FOR NEXT YEAR

1. Congregational Outreach and Recruitment

We intend to visit congregations in Kasoa to:

- Advertise for new students

- Engage church leaderships on the importance of planting more churches in Kasoa

2. Church Strengthening

Our focus will be on strengthening two key congregations:

- Adom Estate Church

- Mankomeda Church 

3. Leadership Development and Unity

To foster growth and unity, we plan to organize a Leadership Seminar for church leaders in Kasoa. This event aims to:

- Equip leaders with valuable insights and skills

- Promote the school’s mission and values within the Kasoa church community. 

CONCLUSION

Cape Coast school continues to grow

REPORT FOR FOURTH QUARTER OF THE YEAR

DECEMBER 2024

The Bear Valley School in Cape Coast has finally completed three years of academic work as at the end of the year. By hard work and perseverance the school has managed to grow from its initial setbacks of limited resources and enrollment and is now brooding and flourishing with much attraction.  We praise and thank God for helping and guiding us to achieving such a wonderful feat. We are also grateful to our benefactors who are constantly and expeditiously responding to our needs. God bless them indeed.      

OVERVIEW

The Cape Coast Study Center is arguably the fastest growing of the Bear Valley schools in Ghana. Starting with just a little over ten students in February of the year 2022, the school keeps on attracting students from across the region. Our numbers now stand at 35 after two drop outs and the death of one of our students. 

Two prospective students have picked up forms to commence studies with us in January of next year as this report is being prepared. It is our hope that more students will be joining our ranks for deliberate and effective biblical studies.

We also hope to graduate the first batch of about 12 students by the end of the second quarter of next year. These students have completed almost all of their course work and are currently trying to complete a few ones they have not taken yet.  

Lecturers from other church of Christ Bible schools have also expressed various interest in our school and their documentations are currently under review for onward approval from our coordinators. The improvement in our students’ work rate, participation and output in their various congregations is a testimony to the good works we are putting in here as we keep attracting interest and attention of the people of the central region. Brethren from all around the region keep calling to make inquiries about our programs and activities. 

As stated in earlier reports, the school is fast gaining notoriety with very sound Christian doctrine at the heart of everything we do here.

COURSES 

As at the end of the December 2024, we have successfully completed 34 courses from our course outline and syllabus. We have also entered 33 of those courses successfully in our data system which forms part of the students’ academic records. We are currently waiting on one of the records from our external lecturers. Hopefully it should be ready in our report for the first quarter of next year.  

In this fourth quarter, we were able to complete these courses: WORLD RELIGION, ELEMENTARY GREEK AND CHURCH HISTORY. We hope to continue with studies in: INTERTESTAMENTAL PERIOD, CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP AND DENOMINATIONAL DOCTRINES in the first quarter of next year.   

PROJECTIONS FOR NEXT YEAR / FIRST QUARTER

As a school we have strategized and agreed on some evangelistic missions in the next quarter. We have had some practical training for the students, and we will be kicking off in MARCH. We hope to invite and collaborate with preachers and church leaders who are closer to this place to help augment our activities during our evangelism drive next year. 

ATTENDANCE TO BIBLE CAMP

The school went on recess in the third week of December. This was because our host church was preparing to attend the annual gospel meeting in another district. Students were thus encouraged to attend this program to familiarize with activities at this program and also to meet seasoned gospel preachers. 

It was a great joy as students were able to attend this program to the amazement of our Ghanaian Coordinator, Brother Kojo Acquah who is one of the Chief Patrons at this program. We hope to keep using such opportunities to learn anytime the chance comes. 

STUDENT PROFILE

BRO YAW ANDERSON

BROTHER YAW ANDERSON was born to Madam Elizabeth a Ghanaian mother and Peter, an Ivorian father in the central region of Ghana. He has lived most of his life within the Cape Coast metropolis of Ghana.  He had his elementary education in Ankaful, but later completed at Apewokisa. 

He continued with his secondary education at the Efutu secondary school, a rural settlement just after the main Cape Coast township in the central region Ghana. 

Yaw has always been athlete and played football for all his school teams. He continued with his footballing even after completing his secondary education with the hope that he could turn a professional one day. 

He believes Isaiah 55:8 had a good influence in his life when he was not making the breakthrough in the football world. He currently works as a house manager in a hostel facility in the University of Cape Coast. 

Yaw is happily married to Matilda with three children. He hopes to become a very resourceful gospel preacher travelling throughout Ghana to spread the message. He currently preaches on a local radio station.

He is a very serious student, especially with his research works. His relationship with other students is excellent and communicates very well with all. He is always participating and contributing in class discussing. Yaw promises to be one of the finest gospel ambassadors when he completes his studies here with us.

Fourth Quarter Report - 2024

The fourth quarter of the 2024 academic year began on Friday, October 4, 2024, and concluded on Saturday, December 28, 2024. During this period, the school successfully completed three key courses, each designed to deepen students' understanding of important biblical topics:

Report on Students

In the final quarter of the 2024 academic year, student attendance remained consistent with the previous quarter. The average attendance for each class was eight (8) students, reflecting a steady commitment to their studies. Despite a few occasional absences, the dedication shown by the students throughout this period was commendable. They consistently demonstrated punctuality and a strong sense of responsibility toward their coursework.

Many students showed great determination to keep up with their academic requirements, even when faced with personal challenges such as work schedules or travel constraints. Their continued participation in class discussions and assignments contributed to a vibrant learning atmosphere. Overall, the commitment of the students was very encouraging.

House-to-House Evangelism

House-to-house evangelism continued in the communities of Gomoa Asebu, Awutu Breku Twiime, and North Atomic. However, in this quarter, students were less engaged in their rotation duties at the churches compared to the first, second, and third quarters. This decrease in participation was primarily due to students being assigned more responsibilities within their own congregations, which made it difficult for them to attend the school's evangelism activities. As a result, only a few students were able to participate in evangelistic efforts during the last quarter.

Despite these challenges, the students who did participate were committed, and even with their busy congregational schedules, they made time for the school’s outreach programs.

I have spoken with the students, and a new duty roster has been prepared for the coming year. Students will be required to inform their congregations of their responsibilities and schedules in advance to ensure smoother participation moving forward. Two baptisms were recorded in this quarter.

Church Planting Program for 2025

Several communities have been identified as potential areas for church planting, and plans are underway to conduct feasibility studies. These communities include Sesemie, Patangan, Dodowaa-Rammah Town (all in the Greater Accra Region), and Achanisa-Abobiri in the Eastern Region. Three students, as part of their desire to have a congregation to minister to, have informed me of these locations.

If the feasibility studies confirm that these areas are suitable for church planting in 2025, I will consult with the Director and Coordinator of Bear Valley Bible Institute, Ghana, to determine the best course of action. It is possible that we could plant churches in two or even all of these locations.

I recognize that the majority of the students will graduate in 2026, and many are eager to establish their own congregations before graduation, rather than waiting until afterward. This urgency reflects their desire to begin their ministry as soon as possible.

House-to-house evangelism continued in key communities throughout the year, contributing to a total of 18 baptisms recorded in this year 2024.

First Quarter Report Summary-2024

The first quarter of 2024 saw steady progress, with the completion of three courses: 1, 2 & 3 John, James, and the Book of Galatians, as well as consistent attendance. The evangelism campaign in Gomoa Asebu and Awutu Breku Twimee helped the school fulfill one of its mandates to conduct an evangelism campaign. At Awutu Breku Twimee church we recorded three baptisms. The school also faced setbacks in its plan to plant a church at Achanisa-Abobiri in April 2024. Additionally, we received new resources, including a laptop and internet router, which are already making a significant impact on our work. 

Second Quarter Report Summary-2024

The second quarter of 2024 was marked by strong academic performance, active student participation, and continued evangelistic efforts in key communities. Despite challenges, including reduced student attendance and the postponement of the church planting campaign, significant progress was made in spiritual outreach and church development in rural communities such as Gomoa Asebu and Awutu Breku Twimee. The school remains committed to fostering both academic and spiritual growth among students, with ongoing dedication to community evangelism. Five baptisms recorded in the second quarter.

Third Quarter Report Summary- 2024

The third quarter of 2024 saw progress despite challenges from the first and second quarters of the year. While some students struggled with attendance during the Greek language course, overall participation remained strong. The successful establishment of the Bohye-North Atomic congregation marked a key achievement in our evangelistic efforts, compensating for earlier delays in church planting. Eight (8) baptisms were recorded in the third quarter

Fourth Quarter Report Summary - 2024

The fourth quarter of 2024 marked a productive end to the academic year, with the successful completion of key courses such as Christian Leadership, How We Got the Bible, and Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage. Despite challenges in student participation due to increased responsibilities within their own congregations, the students remained committed to their academic and evangelistic efforts. A new duty roster for the coming year has been created to improve student involvement in outreach activities by better aligning their schedules and responsibilities with the school’s evangelistic goals.  Looking ahead, plans for church planting in several communities are underway, with the goal of expanding ministry opportunities for the students before their graduation in 2026.

Fourth Quarter 2024

INTRODUCTION

We need to be grateful to our creator for seeing another period of service in His Kingdom.

CLASSES

As usual we have three courses taught. Bro Emmanuel Amoo-Gyimah taught Christian Evidences, Bro. Wisdom Kwasi Yirenkyi handled Life of Christ 1 and Bro. Paul Larbi Young is teaching Homiletics 1 which is ongoing.

BUILDING

Thanks be to God for seeing us through another quarter of service to God our Creator. We continue to be grateful to the Local congregation who has given their old meeting place for classes.

OUR ACTIVITIES

We just had our public preaching from December 17 – 21. All the preaching activities were done by the students. Still our students both past and present continue to take part in the various congregations they worship.

Thanks to the Lord with us for we have had another past student who has been engaged in one of the congregations we have started. This adds up to three of our past students who are serving as preachers in three congregations. The name of the latest one is Bro. Alex Obu. He and his family now worship with the Okorase congregation. Please pray with us for this family.

CONCLUSION

We pray the good Lord will continue to bless our supporters so that together with our efforts, many will be brought into the knowledge of our Saviour Jesus Christ.

THIRD QUARTER REPORT OF THE YEAR: SEPTEMBER 2024

PREAMBLE

The Bear Valley Bible School in Cape Coast started in February of the year 2022. We have successfully completed over two and half years as a school. We are currently in our third year by the gracious mercies of God. The first set of students who were admitted have been ushered into what is hopefully their final years of studies if all things go according to plan. It has really been an exciting period of studies in the last few years since we started together. The school and rapport with staff and students is just amazing. Everything just keeps on getting better. 

OVERVIEW

The Cape Coast Study Center is arguably one of the best Bible School outlets in the region. It is expected to make serious inroads in the country by the time people start seeing and hearing our graduates preach and teach in the various congregations. Starting with just a little over ten students in February of the year 2022, the school keeps on attracting students from across the region. As at the end of the last quarter, our numbers stood at 38. Some of the students are not regular at school due to their work schedule and family and social commitments. Currently, two of our students have secured jobs outside the region. Another has travelled to be with the family and cannot continue to study with us. This has thus reduced our numbers to 35. 

STUDENT TRANSFER 

We lost two of our students to other regions in the course of the third quarter. They secured jobs in the Ashanti and Greater Accra regions to begin continue their lives after national service. They are yet to secure permanent accommodations, so we have not been able to get them affiliated to other Bear Valley units yet. A third student has also stopped and joined the family in Accra. This reduced our numbers by three and as a result our total number of students now stands at 35. 

The school is constantly making a lot of advertisement and announcements at various church programs (funerals, weddings, naming ceremonies, etc), and we hope this will bring in more students to join our ranks. 

The improvement in our students’ enrollment is a testimony to the good works we are putting in here as we keep attracting interest and attention of the people of the central region. Brethren from all around the region keep calling to make inquiries about our programs and activities. And for this we have our students to thank for, as they have proven to be very good ambassadors to the school and the Bear Valley name.  

COURSES 

As at the end of September, the third quarter of the year 2024, we have successfully completed the following courses: THE GODHEAD, HYMNODY AND THE NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH.

We hope to continue with: ELEMENTARY GREEK, THE WISDOM BOOKS, THE GODHEAD AND HOMILETICS 2 in the next quarter.   

UPDATE ON EVANGELISM AT MANKOADZI (a town in the Effutu municipality of the Central Region)

Our planned evangelism which could not come off in the first quarter has finally taken place. In fact, it was a great success. A church has been planted in the community and one of our students, Brother Theophilus Buckman is in charge of this church. They have been meeting since then. The first church meeting recorded an attendance of ten people.

PROJECTIONS FOR NEXT QUARTER

We have started with our visits to the local congregation of our students. The next visit comes off on the 20th of this month. We have discovered that it is an effective way to encourage the locals and also learn from them in different settings. 

We hope to welcome our external Greek Teacher to Cape Coast in October to commence with lessons in elementary Greek. Another visit has also been planned to visit the new church at Mankoadzi. We pray and hope that resources will be made available for all of these activities

THIRD QUARTER REPORT, 2024

Introduction

Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. The following were our activities for the third quarter of 2024.

Classroom Activities

There were three courses offered this quarter: Personal Evangelism 2 taught by Emmanuel Amoo Gyimah, Greek taught by Samuel Papa-Woode, and Church Leadership, taught by Emmanuel Odeng Larbi.

Evangelism and Church Planting

Unfortunately, there was a setback in our efforts to plant a church at Akotoshie in Accra this year God willing. The setback was about the location of the plant. We hoped we would have planted the church by the end of the year.

Student Profile

Brother Stephen Nyarko is the student we are focusing on for this quarter. He was baptized in 1999 at Kintampo in the Bono East region of Ghana. Presently, he attends the Nsawam Central church of Christ where he is a regular Bible teacher. He works as a sales supervisor for Airtel-Tigo, a telecommunications network company in Ghana. He is one of the leaders in his class and is very vocal in his praise of the school. In an interview with him, he said, “I’ll give this school an 8/10.”  We are happy to have him with us.

Conclusion

We are grateful for Bear Valley’s assistance during this quarter. We pray for God’s blessings in this regard. And brethren, please continue to pray for us.

Students Hard at Work in Nkoranza, Ghana

Nkoranza Bible College now Bear Valley Bible Institute International ( Nkoranza campus) has been operating for eight years now, and it's has trained more than twenty five persons who are currently assisting various churches in Bono East Region of Ghana. 

The school is doing very well by the grace of God Almighty in terms of gospel campaigns and church planting. 

In the first week of September 2024 the school together with it's teachers travelled more than 110 kilometers to joined a gospel campaign at Atebubu in the Bono East region of which six souls were added to the Lord's church.

Thanks to Bear Valley for partnership with us. We believe together we can do more for the training of Preachers and again expand gospel campaigns in the region and beyond. 

Students Enrollment: 

The students population is sixteen. They consist of fourteen males and three females. These females are helping children and women's ministry. These women had the privilege to attend Sunday school Teachers Seminar organized by Sister Karen Ashcraft the wife of Brother Steven Ashcraft in Sunyani two years ago.

All the above students are very active in class and participated in gospel campaigns and church planting activities. No wonder Nkoranza area has thirty-three churches in it's jurisdiction in the Bono East region of Ghana. 

Profile of one of the students:

Brother John Addai is the students president, He is married with three children. He was baptized in the year 2000 at Sehwi Debiso in the western north of Ghana. Brother John holds MBA in Banking and Finance he is currently a Registrar at the judicial service of Ghana. He is among the leadership of Nkoranza Breman church in the Nkoranza south municipality of the Bono East region of Ghana. He loves soul winning.

Upcoming gospel campaigns and church planting:

The school has done feasibility studies to campaign and subsequently plant two (2) churches by the close of November 2024 in Kyeredeso and Jerusalem near Sekyere Dumasi.These towns are populated without the Lord's church.The distance from Nkoranza to the area is about 9 miles. We intend to do intensive two weeks Campaigns at each town before planted the church.

THIRD QUARTER REPORT FROM JULY – SEPT, 2024

INTRODUCTION

 We praise God, for the son of thy love, who has renewed our lives for His faithfulness.

ACTIVITIES                                                            

 The general quarter activities continued successfully per the academic calendar of the institution.

ACHIEVEMENTS

• The quarter has ended successfully with our weekly classes as schedules.

• Participatory level in class is always high, livelier and more interactive.

• Two new students have been enrolled to the school, level one hundred Emmanuel Afriyie Antwi from KNUST and Daniel Okyere Asiagbor from KsTU

• All students at BVBI have been assigned on weekly bases to assist the newly establish church at Kentinkrono except those enrolled in this quarter.

• There has been follow-up evangelism after Class at Kentinkrono

• The Digital Library has improved Research and Sermons

• Increase in Directors and Instructors Support

ACCRA EAST EXTENSION - Third Quarter Report - 2024

Courses Covered

The third quarter began on July 5, 2024, and concluded on September 28, 2024. During this period, the school successfully completed three courses, including the newly added Greek Language I and II:

• Greek Language I

• The Book of Hebrews

• Greek Language II

So far, we have completed the majority of the courses. A few remaining courses include: “How We Got the Bible”, “Old Testament 3”, "Homiletics II", “Hermeneutics II”, “World Religions”, “Counseling”, “Bible Geography”, and “Marriage and Family Life”, among others. We plan to tackle these in the fourth quarter and into next year.

Report on Students

Despite a few instances of decreased attendance, students' performance was highly commendable throughout this quarter. They consistently showed remarkable dedication by attending classes on time and regularly. A few students faced challenges due to their location and work schedules, which affected their punctuality and regular attendance. However, overall attendance was encouraged with an average of eight (8) students participating each class. Additionally, students actively engaged in class tests and discussions, contributing to a lively learning environment.

The students initially responded positively to the Greek language course, with attendance reaching 10-11 in the first class. However, in the following weeks, attendance dropped to 5, 7 as some students expressed unease due to the material's difficulty. The Greek lecturer, Samuel Papa-Woode, along with myself and some students, encouraged them to recognize that understanding Greek is a requirement for completing their program and is also essential for their biblical scholarly study. As a result, we observed improvement in subsequent classes. Overall, the majority of students showed determination and commitment to studying Greek, even staying beyond the normal closing time.

House-to-House Evangelism

House-to-house evangelism continued in the communities of Gomoa Asebu, Awutu Breku Twiime, and later in the quarter at Bohye-North Atomic. This outreach led to the establishment of a new congregation at Bohye-North Atomic as part of the Accra East church planting program. Students were assigned to the Gomoa Asebu and Awutu Breku congregations on a rotating basis, visiting every Sunday and engaging in evangelism after worship services. Additionally, students were encouraged to participate in evangelism within their own communities and congregations.

During this period, we witnessed five baptisms: two at the Nmai Djorn Accra East congregation and three at the Boi Church of Christ. One student, John Achie-Quopy, has been instrumental in winning souls for the Boi Church of Christ, where he recorded three baptisms this quarter alone.

Church Planting Program 2024

This year's church planting program was planned for Achanisa-Abobiri in the Eastern Region, a small cocoa farming village. Initially scheduled for April 26-28, 2024, the campaign and inauguration were postponed due to the passing of a community elder and subsequent seasonal rains. The new dates were set for July 27-28, 2024. However, as the time approached, the brother for whom we chose the location and who was to oversee the church planting fell ill and was hospitalized. Upon his return home, he was still not strong enough to take up the task, so he requested that we postpone the planting of the church to December 2024.

In light of this, we turned our attention to Bro. John Achie-Quophy, one of our students, who proposed a new location for the church planting: Bohye North Atomic. He highlighted a densely populated community that lacks a Church of Christ. Bro. John conducted feasibility studies, secured a meeting place, and organized a few members residing in the area.

Since the school had already organized the necessary resources and supplies for the church planting initiative, we quickly arranged to move forward without delay. On Friday, September 13, we gathered for prayer in preparation for the evangelism effort and the church's inauguration. On Saturday, September 14, we conducted house-to-house evangelism, invited people to the church, and distributed tracts.

On Sunday, September 15, we inaugurated the church. Although attendance was modest since many students returned to their various congregations, it was a joyful and encouraging experience. We sang hymns and praised God. I led the Bible class on the topic "The Fruit of Fellowship," based on Acts 2:42-47. Bro. Acquah, the students' class captain, delivered the sermon on "Bearing Fruit as Christians."

The inaugural service saw an attendance of fifteen (15) people: four women, six men, and five children. During this service, we received a total offering of two hundred and sixty Ghana cedis (GH¢260.00), which will help support the ongoing activities of the new church. These records indicate a promising start for the Bohye North Atomic congregation.

Looking ahead, we plan to go to Achanisa-Abobiri in the Eastern Region for next year's church planting program, if God permits.

The Held Lectureship

The school, in collaboration with Nmai Djorn Church of Christ, organized a lectureship on Sunday, September 22, 2024. As the minister of the church and the local director of the school, I had the opportunity to meet with the leadership of Nmai Djorn and the students to discuss the details of the event. The final date for the lectureship was moved to September 22.

The lectures were delivered by Emmanuel Yaw Amo Gyimah, one of the Bear Valley lecturers. We also invited Kojo Acquah, the coordinator, and E.O. Larbi, the director; of Bear Valley however, due to their schedules and travel commitments, they were unable to attend. As a result, the instructor, Amo Gyimah, handled the program alone.

Originally, the event was scheduled for the first Sunday in September but was moved to September 22. The initial topics included:

1. How to Safeguard Biblical Truth in a Changing World

2. Principles of Hermeneutics and Interpretation (Foundational rules and guidelines for interpreting and understanding biblical texts)

3. The Role of Scripture in Today's Culture

During our meeting to discuss the program, some students expressed concerns that the work of preachers is often undermined today, leading to a perceived loss of dignity and diminished appeal in the ministry. In response to this feedback, we decided to shift the focus to the role of the preacher. This suggestion was well-received and prompted us to change the date as well. The new topics chosen were:

1. The Importance and Honoring of Preachers

2. The Biblical Justification for Financial Support of Preachers

Attendance was robust, and the lecturer delivered the topics exceptionally well. The members expressed their desire for such programs to be organized annually.

THIRD QUARTER 2024 REPORT

INTRODUCTION

We extend our deepest gratitude to Almighty God for His unwavering guidance. This report presents a comprehensive overview of Bear Valley Bible Institute's achievements and notable events in Ashtown, Kasoa, Ghana, for the third quarter of 2024.

MERGER ANNOUNCEMENT

Papaase School and Ashtown School have undergone consolidation. Following a significant decline in student enrollment, Papaase School’s operations have been integrated into Ashtown School. Three Students from Papaase School, nearing program completion, will finish their studies at Ashtown School , while three active students will continue their studies at Ashtown School.

COURSES

Over the past quarter, four comprehensive courses were successfully delivered. Emmanuel Larbi taught 1st and 2nd Peter and Jude while Emmanuel Yaw Amoo-Gyimah led Church Planting. Wisdom Kwasi Yirenkyi Instructed 1st, 2nd  and 3rd John and Cost of Discipleship. Eighteen students participated in these enriching courses.

DIRECTOR’S VISIT TO CHURCH OF CHRIST, ROCK CITY, KASOA

On July 14, 2024, the Director paid a visit to Church of Christ, Rock City, Kasoa, where Brother Ebenezer Ocansey Otu, a student, serves as  Preacher. The purpose of the visit was to assess the church’s progress and provide encouragement. During the visit, I delivered an exhortation to the congregation comprising 45 adult members and additional children. Brother Ebenezer’s efforts have yielded notable improvements. We pray for God’s continued empowerment with strength and wisdom.

UPDATE ON CHURCH OF CHRIST, ADOM ESTATE, KASOA

Adom Estate Congregation Celebrates First Anniversary. We gratefully acknowledge God’s blessings as Adom Estate congregation marks its first year since establishment.

On September 22, 2024, I visited the church to assess its progress. During the visit, Brother Emmanuel Aggrey led the Bible class, focusing on “Daily Walk with God.” I also had the opportunity to exhort the brethren. The attendance was encouraging, with 50 members, including children.

We remember Brother Nicholas Tsitsi, who passed away in June. His funeral was held on September 28. The church mourns the loss of a devoted leader and brother. May his soul rest in peace, and may God comfort his wife and children during this difficult time.

As we enter the final quarter of the year, we plan to strengthen the church, God willing.

EVANGELISM

On August 17, 2024, our team conducted a successful door to door evangelism outreach in the Adom Estate neighborhood, with 14 students actively participating in sharing the Gospel.

BAPTISMS

Let’s celebrate! Our students have helped six people get baptized this quarter. Their hard work sharing the Gospel and guiding others has paid off. We’re thankful to God for these new believers and will keep praying for their growth.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: DR. DANIEL OBIRI ACHEAMPONG

We proudly feature Dr. Daniel Obiri Acheampong, a 32-year-old Clinical Pharmacist and Pharmacy Manager (Pharm D), as our outstanding student for this quarter.

A devoted member of the Lord’s Church at Mpraeso Kwahu, Daniel was baptized on December 27, 2009. He actively serves in various roles: Bible class teacher, Youth secretary, Songs leader, Evangelism committee member, Monitoring and evaluation (church administration and programs), Health committee member.

He is a transfer student from Kumasi campus who joined us in the third quarter. This is what he said of Bear Valley, “Through Bear Valley’s dedicated teaching and learning, I’ve personally experienced the transformative power of God’s word. I’ve gained practical skills to interpret and communicate Scripture accurately. Bear Valley is an exceptional institution, and I’m grateful to be a part.”

CONCLUSION

We express profound appreciation to the leadership of Bear Valley Bible Institute, Colorado, USA, and the global brotherhood for their steadfast support and guidance. Accra students have successful campaign

Monthly Report - September 2024

We praise God for His wonderful works in the month of September 2024. We acknowledge His presence and direction in all our endeavours. Here are some of the major activities that we engaged in during the month.

Class Activities

Two short courses are currently being taught:

• 1 Corinthians by Gyasi-Quansah

• Life of Christ 2 by Amoo-Gyimah

Student participation has been good, with active engagement in both courses.

Campaign at Ankwa Doboro

We embarked on a campaign at Ankwa Doboro with a team of 18 members, including students and staff. The one-week campaign, from September 16 to 22, was fruitful and well-received by the community.

• Baptism: One individual was baptized, demonstrating a clear commitment to her faith.

• Reactivation of Old Members: Special talks, and personal visits helped re-engage existing members, revitalizing their spirituality. All members about thirty (30), were happy showed renewed strength in worshipping God.

• Follow-up and Reconnection: Successful follow-up with inactive members encouraged them to worship with their brethren in the Lord.

• New Contacts: We established relationships with almost the entire community, promising to continue studying with the church.

Radio Programme

The listenership of the programme has increased, every week we have new listeners in addition to old the listeners. This is seen by the callers, who calls to ask questions and help by requesting us to visit in their homes to study with us.

Conclusion

We thank God for a fruitful month and for His continued blessings. We appreciate the support and encouragement from all our supporters, partners, friends, and well-wishers who have been praying for us and supporting us in various ways. May God bless you all.
